My stomach sank…
“You should talk about that on a podcast episode,” my friend said as we were talking on my front porch. “So many people would relate to that,” she continued.
I ran on over to my stories and quickly typed:
“Would you be interested in a conversation on navigating social anxiety, depression and panic attacks as a host/guest?” FULLY anticipating that I would delete the story seconds later… HUNDREDS of votes came in for YES!
My follow up question sealed the deal for me:
“Who do you want this information for-yYou, a community member, or both.” If you couldn’t guess already BOTH was the winner by a long shot. So many of us are facing these very things and the problem is, we’re not talking about them. The problem is we don’t have the tools to deal, there’s so much shame behind it and in turn, more often than not we end up isolated or lonely. Let’s change that. Let’s make room.
Through this episode, I will be talking to both the guest and host that deals with anxiety, depression and panic. Also, to the host who doesn’t face these things but wants to learn how to embrace guests who do, well. Through going first and sharing my own story, I hope that you too feel compelled to go first, and share yours too.
Join me for a vulnerable and eye opening conversation on a topic that should be talked about more. A topic that we are making room for here, especially as we prepare for the holiday season.
